Przedpremierowy PhotoFlow 0.2.6

Dynamiczny rozwój edytora graficznego PhotoFlow nie zwalnia tempa. Tym razem autor z okazji wydania 0.2.6 prezentuje nam ogromną liczbę zmian i poprawek, które czynią z programów jedno z wiodących rozwiązań w temacie manipulacji zdjęciami. Jednocześnie specyficzna konstrukcja i założenia tego programu powodują, że nie jest on kolejną kalką wiodących rozwiązań. Program ma swój charakter, przemyślane i wyraziste zasady pracy z warstwami i bezkompromisową jakość. Obowiązkowa pozycja dla każdego, kto lubi dużo parametrów, ustawień oraz pracę ze wspomnianymi warstwami.

Od poprzedniej wersji zmieniło się sporo. Program zmienił nieco interfejs – panel z ustawieniami pojawia się teraz obok panelu z warstwami i jest to poręczne rozwiązanie. W programie pojawiły się śliczne ikony (LibreIcons) i dodatkowy mini – panel z najpopularniejszymi efektami / filtrami. Jednocześnie autor deklaruje pełną zgodność z GTK3 (o tym poniżej). Jednak to tylko początek zmian – pod maską nowego interfejsu natkniemy się bowiem na przełomowe rozwiązania (jak na rozwój PhotoFlow):

• – Disabled pre-caching of layers at image loading. Added output tilecache operations to cached layers.

• – Added correction of RAW black/white points. The corrections are applied to the RAW data BEFORE the white balancing step
• – The camera input profile is now assigned to the image data when the working profile is set to NONE
• – Added possibility to define a default processing preset for all opened RAW files, to be stored as “$HOME/.photoflow/presets/default.pfp” under Linux/OSX. This feature is not yet working under Windows
• – Scale/rotate tool: added horizontal and vertical image flipping

• – Added vertical panel with tools shortcuts on the left of the layers list
• – Implemented preview image panning via Ctrl-left-click-n-drag
• – Added persistent application settings and settings dialog
• – Added “about” section in settings dialog
• – Added possibility to choose a custom monitor profile from disk, which is then used to render the image in the preview area
• – Added help dialogs specific for each tool
• – The clipping warning logic has been changed: now it gets activated whenever at least one channel exceeds the threshold
• – Changed logic for tools activation: now only one tool at a time can be expanded and thus activated, and it also grabs control of the mouse clicks in the preview area. The “editing flag” button has therefore been removed.
• – Improved slider widgets appearance and added reset button
• – Completed GTK3 compatibilty and added initial GTK3 theme, based on TooWaBoo’s RawTherapeeBlue.css theme (add link)
• – Improved file handling icons. New icons are adapted from the LibreIcons iconset (add link)
• – Added rule-of-thirds guidelines to “crop” tool
• – Added possibility to move the selected control point in the curves tool via the keyboard up/down/left/right arrows.

Gigantyczna lista, nieprawdaż? Na pierwszy plan z pewnością wysuwają się nowe parametry podczas dekodowania RAWów (temperatura, korekcja aberracji chromatycznej, obsługa prześwietleń, korekcja punktu bieli / czerni). Jednocześnie możemy określić domyślny profil dla otwieranych RAWów – tak, by za każdym razem nie ustawiać jednoznacznych i dedykowanych naszemu aparatowi parametrów. W tej wersji debiutuje również okno z preferencjami – może niezbyt rozbudowane póki co, ale dobrze rokujące na przyszłość (profile kolorów, itp.). Jeżeli ktoś przegapił, to od jakiegoś czasu w PhotoFlow możemy używać efektów i filtrów znanych z fenomenalnego silnika G’MIC.

Aby zainstalować program w wersji dla Ubuntu 14.04/15.10/16.04, Mint 17.xx i pochodnych, wykorzystujemy repozytorium Highly Explosive:

W powyższym PPA znajdziemy również paczkę photoflow-git – czyli dzienny build wprost ze źródeł, oraz photoflow-gtk3-git – czyli wariację na temat zgodności z GTK3. Ponieważ nie jest ona jeszcze do końca stabilna, stąd też oddzielna paczka. Aby z nich skorzystać, należy odinstalować podstawowe PhotoFlow (i vice versa).

Z ciekawostek – linuksowe PhotoFlow 0.2.6 pojawiło się w PPA jeszcze przed oficjalnym ogłoszeniem wersji 0.2.6 i paczek dla innych systemów.
